How much can Batman bench press

We all have seen how Batman has defeated or rather almost has defeated the Kryptonian in the Batman vs Superman movie, right?

Also, in the Injustice: Gods Among Us comic series, Batman has fought head on for 5 years against Superman. You may have a glimpse of it in the post credit scene of Justice League Snyder’s Cut movie.

So, have you ever wondered how on earth Batman has this super strength to fight against Superman?

Well, I’ve wondered about how much can Batman bench press. Pretty weird, huh? Actually, by knowing how much can Batman bench, we can get an idea about his strength.

There should be a question in your mind that Batman has almost defeated Superman using kryptonite, so how does his strength count here. Well, even if Superman is infected by kryptonite, he is not your average human. He is the same alien that had come from Krypton. To beat that Kryptonian like Batman did in the BvS movie, you ought to need some super strength.

Bench press strength indicates how much weight you can lift up. Thus, it surely gives us an idea of how strong you are. We can’t know about all of his strength through this but we can know about a major portion of his strength.

So, if you are also interested about how much can Bruce Wayne bench press, then follow us below.

We all know who Bruce Wayne is, don’t we?

How can we measure Batman’s bench press strength

Do you guys know how much does Batman weight? Well, it is an important factor when you are measuring someone’s bench press strength. If you don’t know the answer, allow us to tell you that Batman’s weight is 210 lbs. When you convert it to kilograms, it shows 95 kilograms.

So, how much can a normal human weighing 210 lbs bench press? The amount of weight they can handle on average is 320 lbs.

Do you know how much can Batman bench press? Can he bench press 400 pounds? Or 600 pounds? Or 800 pounds? Or can Batman bench press 1000 pounds?

Actually, the answer is 1000 pounds! Don’t get too shocked already. There’s more to come.

How Strong Is Batman

In the Batman comics, issue 655, which was published on 26 July, 2006, Batman is seen to bench press over 1000 lbs in his regular training sessions. Want to know what is currently the world record for highest bench press? It’s 782 lbs, set by Julius Maddox, an American body-builder.

Also, in the Batman Odyssey comics, issue 2, Batman says that he can leg press upto 2500 lbs. The difference  between his leg press and the world record of highest leg press is 1380 lbs!

Batman has also lifted giant beams that weigh more than 1000 lbs without any help. Exactly how strong is this guy? This actually indicates that Bruce can bench press more than 1000 lbs. Though we don’t have enough valid information to prove our point. But you can get the idea.

Do you guys know Solomon Grundy? No, not the nursery rhyme, but the villain from DC comics and DC Animated Universe. Though his name was taken from the nursery rhyme. He was originally a murder victim who was brought back to life as a zombie. And his weight is approximately over 500 lbs. You know where we are going, right? Batman literally lifted this Solomon Grundy guy using only one arm!

The tale of Batman’s strength doesn’t end here. In the Batman comics, issue 681, Bruce didn’t sleep for a few days and had the venom Joker injected on him rushing through his veins and also buried alive under 600 lbs of dirt. In spite of the fact that he was in such a weak condition, he lifted up the coffin lid and came out alive.

Can you also bench press like Batman

At some point, all the Batman die hard fans wanted to be like the Dark Knight of Gotham. Even Bruce himself also said that-

“The idea was to be a symbol. Batman could be anybody. That was the point.” (The Dark Knight Rises)

But can we really be Batman? In terms of a symbol, yes, we can. But what if we wanted to be as strong as Batman?

You guys have seen Bruce Wayne being trained under Ra’s Al Ghul in the Batman Begins movie. It didn’t look so hard, right? Well, that was the Batman from The Dark Knight trilogy who was portrayed by Christian Bale.

Also, we have seen Bruce Wayne (portrayed by Ben Affleck) train in the Batman vs Superman movie. The workout scene didn’t seem so difficult.

The thing is that we don’t know if either of those two Batman can bench press 1000 lbs. The Batman we know can bench press 1000 lbs is from the Batman Vol. 1 comics, which was first published in 1940.

So, we think, you might be able to somehow match the same strength of the Batman from movies. Though it still would be difficult for you to become as strong as the Dark Knight.

Is it even possible for a human to bench press like Batman

As we mentioned earlier, it might be possible for you to bench press like Christian Bale’s Batman or Ben Affleck’s Batman.

But can you bench press like the Batman from the DC comics and DC Animated Universe, or commonly known as DCAU?

The simple answer to this question is NO! You absolutely can’t bench press 1000 lbs weighing 210 lbs.

Super Bench Press

We told you earlier that a normal human weighing 210 lbs can bench press only 320 lbs on average. Even if you work hard for 25 to 30 years and take steroids, you just can’t bench press 1000 lbs. Do you even know how much does Julius Maddox, the person who holds the world record for highest bench press weigh? It’s 460 lbs. Then how can you bench press 1000 lbs while weighing only 210 lbs?

This states that it is humanly impossible for you to bench press like Batman.

But wait, we have a guide for you on “how to increase your bench press by 100 pounds”.

How can Batman bench press 1000 pounds

You want to know how Batman can bench press 1000 lbs when you can’t?

You are aware of the fact that Batman is a fictional character of DC comics. Batman was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger. He first appeared in the comics of Detective Comics’ 27th issue, which was published on March 30, 1939.

If you look into the comics, Batman started his training at the age of 25. He left Gotham City when he was 18 and travelled through the whole world training for 7 years. Then, he came back to Gotham to fight against the injustice.

Though, in the Batman Begins movie, we have seen Bruce train under Ra’s Al Ghul at the age of 29. You people know what he went through in those training sessions.

Also, in the Batman vs Superman movie, we have seen Ben Affleck’s Bruce train like a beast before his fight against Superman.

But the training scenes we’ve seen in the movie looked rather possible for a human being. But those two Batman were not at the same level as the comics canon Batman regarding bench press strength.

His daily sessions were extremely hard for a human to handle. But he is Batman, isn’t he? There is no other explanation of how Batman can bench press 1000 pounds. If Bill Finger chose Batman to bench press over 2000 pounds, we couldn’t do much about that. Still, the harsh training he went through for those 7 years somehow explains how Batman got his inhuman strength. Though his training wasn’t also humanly possible.

So, this is impossible for a human who weighs only 210 lbs. Don’t try to imitate Batman and bench press a 1000 lbs weight bar.

We will be completing this article with a great quote about Batman-

“Because he’s the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So, we’ll hunt him. Because he can take it, because he is not a hero. He’s a silent guardian, a watchful protector, a Dark Knight.”

                                                                                    – Commissioner Gordon (The Dark Knight)
